Louise Aitken-Walker/ Monika Eckhardt, GpA Ford Escort RS1600i HPU 74Y
Autosport Jul 19, '84 p23 Louise impresses on Skoda outing Louise Aitken-Walker survived an incident-packed Skoda Rally at the weekend, but eventually brought her Escort RS1600i to fifth place with Monika Eckhardt alongside for the first time. The car was run by Dave Campion of R-E-D but the event did not, apparently, get off to a good start when a driveshaft broke on the first test. Thereafter, Aitken-Walker was delayed after being caught on the wrong tyres in a downpour, but reached the finish to win the award for the top Junior Team driver, beating the Norwegian youngsters on their first appearance. The result earns the Scots girl points in the European Ladies Championship, level with Rena Blome, and Gabrielle Husar - all with 8 points - but a long way behind the certain title winner, Michele Mouton, who accumulated 60 points with her Swedish Rally result at the start of the season.
Autosport July 26, '84 p66 Another pleasant surprise came from the Dave Campion-run Escort RS1600i of Louise Aitken-Walker and Monika Eckart who won their class in claiming fifth overall, despite losing 2mins on the very first stage.
