Rally Sport March 84 p36 Britain was represented by no fewer than eight crews, led by the Junior Rally team, supported on this occasion by Bowring Motor Sport, Castrol, Champion, DFDS Ferries, Lucas, Mintex, Pirelli, Shell, Taki Tyres, Terry Harryman, Gunnar Palm, and RAC Motoring services.
The four JRT crews were Louise Aitken/ Ellen Morgan (GpA Escort RS1600i), Mark Lovell/ Peter Davis (GpA Escort RS1600i) Dean Senior/ Philip Shaw (GpA Toyota Corolla) Andrew Wood/ Peter Scott (Gp A Samba)
Wood and Aitken had been before and achieved the best results, Wood finishing in the top 20 while Aitken (who was around 5 seconds per mile slower) won the less-strongly-contested 1600cc GpA class. Senior made the finish on his first JRT venture, but Lovell suffered the ignominy of running out of petrol early in the second leg. By way of comparison, the Swedish Junior Team (which works to the same under-26 age limit) included the drivers who finished 5th, 8th and 10th overall.
Rallycourse 1984-85 p95 Other British Junior Rally Team members to finish were Louise Aitken/ Ellen Morgan who were 24th in their Escort RS1600i and won their class. Mark Lovell/ Peter Davis failed to finish in their 1600i after running out of petrol on a 27 mile stage.

Autosport Feb 16, '84 p16 Louise Aitken drove an MCD -run Escort RS1600i along with Mark Lovell. The Scots lady drove disappointingly but finished, winning the 1600cc Group A class, whereas fellow Junior Team driver Lovell went better but had to retire. He ran out of fuel, discovering this just as he came to a corner and went off the road.
