Date & Time - Saturday 6th September Yes - its on a Saturday. Primarily because Guy works on sundays, and I'm usually at a car show somewhere, but this will also allow people to travel to York by train. We thought it was mad to start everything at 9:00am or 9:30am when the majority of people attending will be coming some distance, so we've decided to open the doors at 10:30am. (Stallholders - 10:00 - not 8:15 please!).
Location Askham Bryan is located just to the south west of York, right off the main A64 dual carriageway, so access is really easy. The M1 now runs directly into the A1(M) just south of the A64, so access by car could not be easier.
Directions: From the A1(M), head towards York on the A64. After Tadcaster, take the A1237 York north ring road. At the top of the slip road, immediately turn left towards Askham Bryan, the college is on the left.
From the railway station, it is possible to get a bus out to the college (Yorkshire Coastliner), but a Taxi will probably be easier.
Accommodation: There is no shortage of accommodation in York. In addition to the many city hotels and guesthouses, there are 2 Travelinn's, 2 Travelodges, and 2 Holiday Inn Express within a 10 mile radius, 2 of which are only 1 mile away on the A64 at Bilborough.
Refreshments: Teas, Coffees, Sandwiches and Cakes will be available.
